Platamona

The beach of Platamona is the longest and deepest of the entire coastline from Porto Torres to Castelsardo. The shallow, sandy seabed makes it an ideal place for families with children. Often windy, it is much loved and frequented by those who practice water sports such as surfing and windsurfing. Platamona extends from the tower of Abbacurrente to join the beach of Marina di Sorso. It is the perfect destination for those seeking relaxation and contact with nature.

Sea and Nature

Platamona, along the northern coast of Sardinia between Porto Torres and Castelsardo, is a seaside resort famous for its long beach of light sand lapped by a sea with turquoise hues. Behind it, a lush pine forest and coastal ponds create a natural oasis ideal for walks and birdwatching. This destination combines tranquillity and services, making it perfect for families, couples, and nature lovers.

Culture and Traditions

The territory of Platamona, part of the municipality of Sassari, is immersed in a rich cultural tradition rooted in the history of north-western Sardinia. A few kilometres from the beach is the historic centre of Sassari, with its noble palaces, centuries-old churches, and museums that tell centuries of island art and civilisation.

The folk festivals, such as la Faradda di li Candareri, recognised as UNESCO heritage, or the celebrations for San Gavino in Porto Torres, enliven the area with processions, music, and traditional costumes. Local crafts and typical cuisine – from roast porceddu to fregula with clams – complete the authentic experience of those who choose Platamona not only for the sea but also to discover the cultural soul of its land.
